The Saboteur (2009)

EA's 2009 videogame The Saboteur is set during WWII in German occupied France. What makes it so distinct stylistically is the use of colour and shadow throughout.
As you progress through the game saving the city the environments change from the symbolic Nazi invaded territories in black and white to sunlit brightly coloured scenery. Inspiration from Schindler's List is also obvious through the black and white colouring of everything except important imagery such as the swastika on the Nazi uniforms, alerting symbols and the blood to show how horrific these times were.

Doing something similar with colour symbolically could help us in telling our opinion throughout our animation.
